The varsity boys basketball team at Saint Andrew's School is a powerhouse in high school basketball, having won a state championship in 2020.
The team has a rich history of producing numerous collegiate and professional players, including players who have gone on to play in the NBA. The team is known for its talent, discipline, and dedication, and is led by experienced coaches who have a track record of developing top-level players.
The team competes in a challenging league and plays against some of the best high school basketball teams in the state. The varsity basketball team at Saint Andrew's School is a point of pride for the school, and its success on the court is a testament to the hard work and commitment of its players and coaches.
2023-2024 SEASON UPDATE
The boys' basketball team won the 18th District Championship in Coach O'Connell's 39-year career by beating Saint John Paul on February 10. The victory was secured by a score of 78-68, with Brooklyn Vick ('24) leading the way with a season-high 37 points. Vick also contributed with 7 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals in the game.
Following their title win, the team played a Regional Quarterfinal match against University School on February 15 and won 54-53. Alex Montes ('25) played a key role in controlling the game with 14 points and 14 rebounds. Brooklyn Vick was the top scorer with 17 points, while Diego Rojas-Bowe ('25) scored the go-ahead basket with 10 seconds left in the game.
The team is now set to play the Regional Semifinal game on Tuesday, February 20. The #4 seed Scots will be traveling to face the #1 seed Westminster Academy.
